The Role of Inner Wealth in Wholistic Health

The Role of Inner Wealth in Wholistic Health

Greetings Inner Wealth Champions! Years ago, I embarked on my wholistic health and wellness journey with nutrition as my focal point while studying abroad in Cape Town, South Africa.

During my journey abroad, I vividly remember experiencing a paradigm shift within and my philosophy regarding life itself and fulfillment of my divine purpose was fully present and presented to me by God. Prior to studying and living in Cape Town, South Africa, I had always been cognizant of health, at least physical due to my parents' active engagement in my extracurriculars as a young child and teenager. However, upon arriving in the Motherland I understand the importance of wholistic health, wholistic health and living within, and God's original design for wellness for myself and mankind. Moreover, I unraveled the philosophical and intellectual understanding of wellness as it also relates to the fulfillment of our purpose as we journey through Earth. We are created in God's image, and are eternal divine spiritual beings having temporary divine physical experiences. As for myself, I am the masculine expression of God and I am an eternal divine masculine spiritual being having a temporary divine masculine physical experience.

Shortly upon my arrival, I recall a student observing that I was moving "too fast." As someone who is calm, reserved, laid back, and considered to operate at a slower pace than most in the American context, I was certainly taken aback upon hearing this woman's words and it signaled me to further reflect upon the way and quality of life in America and how it impacts our health. The closer we are to natural, organic, and simple ways of living, the healthier we become and are. As we detour from this, we began to experience more dis-ease and sickness. This was an early moment in my many experiences abroad that transformed me within and my understanding of health as a wholistic concept and active pursuit, as opposed to viewing one's health through independent modalities. Every aspect of our health is interconnected and creates health or dis-ease.

Moving forward, I adopted a vegetarian eating regimen when living abroad. At this time, my goal was to become fully plant-based, but I had yet to arrive to this way of living. By the end of my time abroad, I recall developing gut sensitivities to dairy products that persisted upon my return to America. Upon visiting a physician in America, we both agreed to remove dairy from my eating regimen for a week to assess its effect on my body. Upon removal of dairy I experienced a complete shift in my gastrointestinal, emotional, and neurological health. The physiological function of my gut health improved, my emotional health improved, and my mental health soared through the sky! :) I had experienced true healing within!

Nutrition is vital for our overall health as it affects numerous organ systems in tissues within our body that interact with each other to maintain a state of homeostasis within. For example, have you heard of the gut-brain axis? The gut-brain axis explores the role that nutrition plays in our brain health and cognitive function. Our gut is often referred to as our second brain! Ever wonder why you feel sluggish after eating foods that are not nutrient dense, or why you may experience brain fog when malnourished. God created the Earth, and the plants that grow from the Earth. Our food supply and choices have a direct effect on our connection with God, spiritual health, discernment, connection with self, knowledge of God, knowledge of self, ability to heal within, and our overall health across all dimensions. Nutrition is more sacred and serious than the current "credit" it is given.

As I continued my wholistic health and wellness journey with nutrition as my focal point, I began to receive the divine understanding from God that our health is wholistic, healing is an inside "job," and our ability to attain and sustain optimal health depends on the state of our wholistic health, and this is where I coined the philosophy that our "Inner Wealth is the Overall State of Our Wholistic Health." Inner Wealth symbolizes that health is our true wealth, and health requires us to seek God and ourselves within to truly experience healing and optimal health!

Finally, the above-mentioned previous experiences led to the creation of Afya Organic™. The Swahili language is part of the bantu language family (the group of languages spoken in much of central and southern Africa) and as a result of studying abroad in Cape Town, South Africa, I felt led to research a word that means health in Swahili as my wholistic journey began in South Africa. Afya means health. One who will be free from all illnesses and impurities, strong will power, and also strong physically and emotionally. Additionally, "Optimal Health" is a dynamic balance of physical, emotional, social, creative, spiritual, occupational, financial, self-preservation, and cognitive health. Afya Organic™ is simply a tool that God presented to me in a vision that is an expression of my larger purpose in this lifetime aligned with healing and wholistic health and wellness with nutrition as a focal point. This is just the beginning and I look forward to fulfilling my soul's divine purpose through the many visions, provisions, and prophetic messaging God provides me. Most importantly, it is God's calling and anointing in my life that shall be revealed through the specific inter-workings of my walk and fulfillment of my purpose. I am simply honored to be used by God, experience self-actualization and self-realization, and I welcome you all on this journey with me. One of healing, optimal health, longevity, creativity, passion, love, and God-ordained experiences and miraculous wonders!
